Description
I normally get off of work at noon on Fridays, and since i have been having an urge to catch some bass, I decided to dedicate the second half of my day to fishing a local pond. Temperatures have been blistering cold here in Tennessee The Last couple of nights (Mid Teens), so I was sure part of the pond would be frozen, but i wasnt gonna let it detour me from trying. Upon my arrival at the local pond i confirmed my suspicions...The water was frozen (all except a few feet around the banks on 3 sides). I continued on as if it werent gonna stop me from catching fish. Unfortunately, good intentions dont always have a good outcome. The water that had not frozen was much too shallow to hold bass this time of year< so i wasnt able catch them. I did on the other hand catch the edges of the ice several times, which resulted in the loss of about $15 worth of Lures. I left cold and dissapointed< but i didnt catch any less fish than the Anglers who stayed at home on the warm couch< and I felt i showed my dedication to a sport that I Love. slightly warmer temps are coming, so i intend to get some time on the lake this weekend. ( I did take a few photos of the pond frozen over but i didnt have that memory card with me when i submitted this report, so i will try to put one of the pics in my "Honey holes" folder soon.)
