Fishing Tips
Buffalo River - If you are fishing either in the early spring or late fall on eastern Lake Erie you know winds can spoil the day. If that happens go into the Buffalo River it is always calm & the bass fishing is good
Walleye - In Lake Erie you can catch walleye just drifting a wormharness and a worm, but if you run out of worms a big minnow works just as well even on the worm harness!
Lake Erie, Meyers Reef - When bottom bouncing for walleye on Lake Erie keep the presentation small and the speed of the drift slow.
Lake Erie, Canadian Border - Walleye - Go back to basics and simply drift and bottom bounce a crawler harness. I have been fishing this way in up to 65 feet of water. Just use 1 ounce of weight for every 10 feet of water depth.
Lake Erie, Canadian Border - I believe the walleye fishing has never been better on Eastern Lake Erie and I have been fishing here since 1960. You can access the prime walleye spots from Sturgeon Point Marina in the Town of Evans
Lake Erie, Canadian Border - Bottom Bouncing for walleye, use wormharness with a number 3 colorado blade, keep your speed to a quick drift, no faster that 1.3 mph. Use 1 oz weight for every ten ft of water depth. .
Lake Erie, Canadian Border - Open water walleye fishing ... set baits in the upper third of the water column
Umbrella Rig - Walleye - Troll the smaller Alabama style umbrella rig for walleye. Use colorado blades on the 4 outer arms, on the center arm put a stickbait. Deadly!
