Fishing Tips
Sugar Creek - Mepp spinners works for smallmouth...
Crankbait - When river fishing a crankbait in current, try adding a small sinker on your line directly in front of your lure to help the bait suspend at the depth you need for a longer period of time
Crappie Tube - Find yourself getting alot of strikes but no fish? Try speeding up your retrieve, this often triggers harder hitting strikes resulting in catches as it forces the fish to give chase & bite hard quick!
Tube - When fishing bass tubes make sure to allow the tube to fall on slack line for the proper persentation, it should appear as a dying baitfish spiraling down in front of bass...lift and drop a few times
Largemouth Bass - Determine the most abundant size and type of bait in the lake you fish and match your lure to the predominant color, action and size of bass prey..you'll more than likely find more fish !
Largemouth Bass - Never drop a spinnerbait directly on top of cover if you expect to hold fish. Cast 3-4 foot past the spot, retrieve the bait until it bumps the cover, then let it fall....be prepared to set the hook!
Largemouth Bass - Look for bass on windy days on the windward side of weedbeds, points, bluffs & shorelines. Oxygen content and baitfish abundance are higher in these spots....crankbaits & spinnerbaits work well
Largemouth Bass - Use ultralight crankbaits in the spring when fry are hatching and bass are looking for small forage. March, April & May are prime months for fishing tiny crankbaits. Try our Deadfish Company micros!
