Boy it's very cold out there on the water the water temp is around 50-60 degrees in the creeks and cannales but around the springs the temp is about 68-71.Aripeka is the area that i would target for redfish,trout,sheepshead,and black drum.the reds are staying in the shallowes to keep warm the shallow water will get warmer faster than the deeper water, target depth 1-2 feet for redfish look were there is muddy bottom the fish will lay in the mud to get warmth and around rocks and oyster bars the reds are in small schools 2-8 fish per school use live shrimp free line on a 2/0 circle hook or you should use a Berkly Gulp New Penny shrimp or jerkbait on a 1/8 oz jighead bouncing slowly on the bottom will produce some quality fish.This is when the sheepshead bite is ON i would fish a little deeper water 3-6 feet seawalls are a great starting point to find the sheepshead and in Fillmans Bayou the deep holes through there hold a lot of fish this time of year use live shrimp and a 1/0 circle hook with a small split shot on the bottom if you are having trouble getting the hook in them try a piece of shrimp.The Trout are in the skinny and deep water the trout bite has been slow throw a topwater plug like a Rapala Skitter Walk and for a soft plastic throw a white Gulp shrimp on a 1/8oz jighead working slowly on the bottom.The fish are bitting so come and join Capt.Josh and lets catch some fish.
