Got the new year started off right with a blackfish trip off the Last Lady with Captain Ralph out of Belmar. The weather cooperated nicely, with temps in the low 50s and very little wind until the early afternoon. Using a combination of green grabs with some white crabs mixed in, i made my first attempt at these frustrating fish. For the 8 fish I pulled over the rail, I must have attempted about a hundred hook sets. Had fun on what was considered a slow day (caught half the boat's keeper limit), and would definitely go back again.
