Was on the water while it was still dark this morning with glow stick attachments in our slip bobbers. Only caught 2 crappie before light on the bobber and live minnows. Once light broke it was game on. One crappie after another for a straight hour. Bite flat died the second the sun broke the trees at about 7:15. Switched to another pond and caught several nice gills on live crickets. Bite turned off about 9:00. Switched back to original pond and bass fished for a couple of hours, mostly with a 3' dive cotton cordell charteuse crankbait. My son got to break in my new rod I just got for him and is now officially addicted to crankin ! Fantastic morning of fishing with low temps and humidity ... felt like fall. Just a warmup of what's to come. YES !!!
Dinner will be a "crappie" one tonight ... it's been a while ... YUM !
