totally can relate to your story jason, my home waters bass pond dried up about 6 years ago because they developed too many houses and it drained the water table too low to sustain the lake... the town recently took interest in having the lake reestablished permenantly and they restocked it... now everyone has public access to it, its not a huge lake but a small pond but its right near to my parents house in jackson so its great to have a quick walk around... too bad there is ice on it now, but i have to say the last 2 years we caught bigger bass there than ever so they did a good job... like to keep the memories in tact
